The definition of waters of the U.S., including streams and wetlands, has been a constant point of contention for almost three decades. Recent attempts at defining these regulated waters through federal notices has been met with a litany of questions, concerns and the commensurate litigation. This presentation will describe waters of the U.S., as we know them today, and projected attempts at defining future regulatory waters. In addition, the presentation will include methods to expedite, or eliminate, the permitting quagmire one might find themselves when encountering waters of the U.S.
