API Recommended Practice 100-2 Managing Environmental Aspects Associated with Exploration and Production Operations Including Hydraulic Fracturing
This session will review the American Petroleum Institute “API” Recommended Practice “RP” 100-2 “Managing Environmental Aspects Associated with Exploration and Production Operations Including Hydraulic Fracturing”. Specific topics discussed will include site selection, planning, mobilization, rig-up, baseline groundwater sampling, source water management, material selection, onsite handling of fluids and chemicals, spill prevention, management of solid and liquid wastes, air emissions, noise, visual resources and more. Special emphasis will be placed on and specific examples provided for industry’s adoption of this practice, often without state or federal requirement and regardless of the incumbent political party in Washington DC.
