Acquisitions and divestitures (A&D) are huge events in the oil and gas industry. They are a part of the asset allocation strategy for companies and are constantly evaluated on both a short and long-term basis. Oil and gas companies seek to acquire assets that maximize core competencies and increase shareholder value. Operators look for assets to acquire reserves adn conslidate land positions and to apply technical expertise in specific plays for higher margin recovery.

Because acquisitions and divestitures are commonplace in the oil and gas industry, an invaluable tool for professionals is knowing how to determine the market value of oil and gas properties. This course focuses on how to do this (from both the buy-side and sell-side) using reserve reports, the marketplace, and the buyer’s own investment criteria.

Companies are rewriting their A&D playbook to a more strategic, restrained and environmentally-focused approach. This shift means companies are becoming more tactical with acquisitions and divestitures. Therefore, now more than ever, it is important for professionals to clearly understand all facets of this important aspect of the oil and gas industry. This program is designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of the high stakes involved with acquisitions and divestitures.
