Presentation Abstract:
Numerous changes have been proposed and enacted since early this year, with more on the way. The ever-changing definition of waters of the U.S. has continued to evolve due to administration changes and US Supreme Court rulings. In addition, changes to the 404 permitting processes for energy-related project have been instituted and more are on their way. Threatened and endangered species and NEPA are getting a new look. This presentation will explore each of these areas, the changes that have been made over the past year, and any upcoming proposed changes. Case examples, as well as useful tools to help expedite the process in certain cases, will be provided to help explain some of the rule changes.
