Streams, wetlands, and floodplains can cause significant delays in the design and construction of energy-related projects. Crossing or otherwise impacting streams and wetlands usually result in a myriad of issues that will need to addressed prior to, as well as during, construction. Floodplains can cause problems, even in the most remote areas, and water rights in the western U.S. can trigger unexpected complications.
